Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Changes & new Features.


It’s finally official! Google has revealed details of their new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system.

Here are some new features listed below:

  • Newest build adds support for around 200 Unicode 8 emojis to Android.
  • The “back” and “home” buttons have been shifted towards the left, while the “overview” multitasking button has been moved to the right. The change makes it easier to hit the buttons with your thumbs when you are holding the tablet.
  • There are also additional changes to the Do-Not-disturb controls. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will also have the latest security patches for the month of December.
  • Older Nexus devices (including the Nexus 5, 6, 7 and 9) the ability to open up the camera just by double tapping the power button.

Google confirmed the roll-out in a tweet from official Twitter handle of Nexus and said, “We’re celebrating new emojis on #Nexus which start rolling out today! You can read what the original Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update brings with itself by clicking here.
