Apple loses market share in China, ranked 5th amongst smartphone vendors

Today Analytics Firm Canalys has published its Q1 report regarding market share position of smart phone vendors  in China. The report doesn’t paint a rosy picture for Apple’s iPhone. iPhone has suffered decline in sales and market share has gone down from 14.18% in Q1 2015 to 11.96% in Q1 2016. In fact four smartphone vendors Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo have sold more smartphone than Apple in this quarter. Launch of iPhone SE seems to have not been able to stem the fall for Apple.

According to the Canalys report, here are top 5 smartphone vendors in China.

Top 5 smartphone vendors in china

  1. Huawei
  2. Vivo
  3. Xiaomi
  4. Oppo
  5. Apple

China smartphone shipments grew 1.3% YoY in Q1. Huawei took lead while Vivo came 2nd as Xiaomi has also lost momentum and came at 3rd position. Oppo is at 4th position and Apple on 5th rank, which is quite disappointing sales performance for Apple.
