Check out the journey of Lineage OS till March 20, 2017

The new year begun with new OS. Cyanogen announced that they are leaving the ROM and OS development. So a new group came to continue the legacy of what Cyanogen was and it was dubbed as Lineage OS.

Now it’s been more than 2 months and company has now shared the milestones achieved by them as OS development team. Some key achievements include over a million of installations, new changes to the OS since 6th March, new devices and latest security patches.

Detailed information is given below,

The company has now revealed in their blog post that since the journey started and till now, they have received one million of installations. Although the company doesn’t track number of devices and installations but is is just an appropriate idea of what they are doing and what their growth is actually.

  • Contacts can now be stored locally regardless of whether a contacts provider exists
  • Custom QuickSettings tiles are back! (tiles) Initial tiles are as follows:
    • Caffeine
    • USB Tether
    • Sync
    • Battery saver
    • Ambient display
    • Heads Up
    • Volume Panel
    • ADB over Network
  • March security patches (r25) have been merged
  • Removed 14.1 devices
    • Maintainer is no longer active

      • HTC One (GSM) – m7
      • HTC One (Verizon) – m7vzw
  • Added 14.1 devices
    • Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) – jfltevzw – maintainer: invisiblek
