YU Yutopia vs OnePlus Two vs Xiaomi Mi 5: Comparison overview

Yesterday we published a comparison between two upcoming titans of 2016. But as always, there are other phones too to compare. There are some budget flagships also from different companies. So here we will compare flagships from budget companies like One Plus, Xiaomi and Micromax’s Yu. All these companies either have flagships or coming very soon. Here we will compare Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi5 ,One Plus 2 and Yu YUTOPIA.

Design :

We know that these days companies are moving for metal even in budget phones. So a flagship could be left behind in that league.All the device feature a metal  or glass body.

YU YUTOPIA has a full metal body. The company says that they have used aircraft grade Aluminium n the phone which makes it stronger.It is having a unibody design .

OnePlus has made it’s OnePlus 2 with removable back which can be changed with other back covers of leather & different materials.

Xiaomi Mi5 will come with a Metal-Glass body which will be curved on the back.  It will be having unibody design as it’s predecessor.

Xiaomi & YU have an edge over OnePlus in the department of design.

Display :

This is the very first thing we look for when we are about to purchase a smartphone. It’s size, quality, resolution,technology and protection are the things that we take care of when we go to purchase a smartphone.

OnePlus 2 has a display of 5.5″ Full HD with a display resolution of 1920x1080p which makes it to 401 PPI. It has Gorilla Glass protection on op of it which is scratch resistant.

YU YUTOPIA has a 5.2″ Quad HD display with a resolution 1440 x 2560 pixels. It has Corning’s One Glass Solution on top of it to make the phone thinner.The PPI of the screen which makes it look better is 565 PPI.

Xiaomi’s upcooming Mi5 is very likely having 5.2″ QHD display with a scratch resistant coating on top of it.The display will be having same PPI as YU YUTOPIA. There are rumors that we will see another variant with 1080p display & 3GB RAM.

Here again Xiaomi & Yu have been awarded the best displays for the category.

Processor :

OnePlus 2 is using an octa core processor in it made by Qualcomm.The processor is known for heating issues.Well it is using Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor which was used by many others in 2015.

Same is the case with Yu YUTOPIA. It also uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor in it. But the company claims it has modified the processor to remove heating issues.

Xiaomi has already announced that it’s flagship Mi 5 is using Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Octa Core Processor.

So here Xiaomi has an edge over others.

RAM :

Many specs hungry people were waiting for this section to be announced & let the devices fight with each other. But this section seem to be a tie because all the devices are using 4GB of RAM . But we have an exception with Xiaomi because the lighter version of Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to sport 3GB of RAM.

Storage :

Let’s just take a look at the storage options these phones include. Many phones in this world come with  Micro SD slot but few of them don’t come.

So here we have OnePlus 2 which doesn’t have a Micro SD card slot in it. It comes in two variants i.e. 16GB and 64GB.

YU YUTOPIA comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage with a Micro SD slot that can be used for extra storage.

It is still very unclear about Xiaomi if it will bring Micro SD slot in MI 5 or not but the internal storage options will include  16GB & 64 GB models.

Camera :

All the phones are equipped with great camera sets.While YU YUTOPIA has the biggest camera sensor with 21MP in size.

If we talk about OnePlus 2 , it doesn’t have a very exciting camera but it is good enough to capture daily shots.It has a 13MP camera on the back which is the same that we saw in the OnePlus 1.

Here comes the Xiaomi Mi 5 which is set to come with a 16MP sensor on the back. It is also expected that the camera will be one of the best in terms of daily pictures.

Battery :

Battery is what we take care of every time when we check our phone. So having a healthy battery is very necessary for every phone.

YU YUTOPIA is launched with 3000mAh battery inside it which is necessary for a QHD display and Qualcomm’s battery hungry Snapdragon 810 processor.

Now we have OnePlus 2 with 3300mAh battery which is also proven to be good enough for a 5.5 inch smartphone with Snapdragon 810.

Xiaomi’s battery capacity is still not made official but if we believe from what the leaks say, it is expected to be around 3000mAh. The company stopped there just to make the phone slimmer .

Operating System :

OnePlus Two was released with Oxygen Os developed in the hose of OnePlus because there were some disputed between Cyanogen & OnePlus for software distribution.The dispute was cleared out later by both the companies & uses are now getting Cyanogen OS if they want. The base OS was Android Lollipop when it was launched but company will provide Marshmallow update to it.

If we talk about YU YUTOPIA, it is running Cyanogen OS on it with Android Lollipop.The company has already promised that the team is working on Cyanogen OS 13 based on Android Marshmallow.

Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to come with MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow.
