Corning Inc. have announced the successor to their Corning Gorilla Glass. The new Gorilla Glass is called the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The beauty of Gorilla Glass 5 is that it provides 2 times more damage protection over the Gorilla Glass 4. Corning Inc said during launch of Gorilla Glass 5, ” The Gorilla Glass 5 can survive up to 80% of the time when dropped facedown from 1.6 meters onto rough surfaces, far outperforming competitive glass designs,”
Features of Gorilla Glass 5:
- 2x more damage protection compared to Gorilla Glass 4.
- Upto 4x improved damage protection compared to any other alternate glass
- Upto 1.8x drop performance compared to Gorilla Glass 4
- Survives up to 80% of the time from drops at 1.6 meters
The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is now under production & will be available in market later this year.
