Cyanogen laying off employees, may refocus on Apps

Cyanogen, the company behind one of world’s most powerful custom ROM maker have now layed off soem 30 employees in their firm. Cyanogen Inc has total of  136 employees all over the world. But 30 out of 136 being layed off indicates that 20℅ of the employees have been layed off which means that the company is going for a huge change.

Cyanogen wanted to have world’s most popular OS with them. The CEO of Cyanogen said that they want to get Android from Google as Google is not able to take care of the Android OS properly. With 20℅ employees being layed off, it is quite unclear who will work on the ROMs as the people layed off are from the team that works on the open source software. Reportedly the layoff is being conducted in Seattle office by Steve Kondik. Some internal sources tell that th company wants to ‘pivot’ to ‘Apps’ which could become their main focus.
