Google’s new Nexus Launcher (2016), the default UI on upcoming Nexus Marlin and Sailfish devices has leaked and is available to download and install now.
The launcher was leaked earlier in images and videos and was posted widely. Modders over XDA Forum have been now able to get their hands on the Flashsable Zip which has the APK of the new Nexus Launcher. They have posted the download link too.
If the apk is installed as a system app you can get Google Now in a swipable pane on the homescreen. Here are the most notable changes and new features of new Nexus Launcher.
Nexus Launcher (2016) new features:
- Absence of an App Drawer icon and ability to get the App Drawer with a swipe up gesture on HomeScreen. Alternatively, by just tapping the arrow itself you can open the app drawer. You can swipe down from anywhere (except the notification and navigation bars) or hit the back button to close the drawer
- Google Search Bar has been removed and in its place we can see a calendar widget
- Existence of a Daily Wallpaper feature. Wide collection of wallpapers built-in as well.
