Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd launched world’s cheapest smartphone dubbed as Freedom 251. The Freedom 251 smartphone was having all the basic feature to be a very affordable smartphone. It is priced at juts Rs. 251. The company was already in many controversies with this phone. Everyone was asking how can they provide a phone with such a good specs for just Rs. 251 but company MD & President tried to answer some queries in different interviews with different news paper agencies of India.Yesterday the company already said that they will be providing payment links to 25 Lakh customers on priority basis. We have already made a comparison article of Freedom 251 with some other devices of similar specs but Freedom 251 was always winner because of it’s price.
Now according to a report from Indian national news paper The Hindu, the company Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd. is planning to import first 50 Lakh of units off the Freedom 251 smartphone in order to meet the huge demand. In meeting of the Hindu officials with Department of Electronics and IT (DeitY) officials said, “Ringing Bells President Ashok Chaddha and Promoter Mohit Goel on Monday “explained their business model”. This follows instructions from the Communications and IT Minister to examine the “veracity” of the venture”
According o some senior official from the ministry,Mr. Ashok Chadddha & Mr. Mohit Goel said that they are planning to “import 50 lakh handsets to meet the demand and will then start manufacturing in India in a phased manner”
It was already made by the company will be importing components from Taiwan & will be assembling it in NOIDA. The company also plans to setup at-least two new manufacturing plants withing 6-8 months of time frame.
