Google ‘Phone’ app for Android updated with Spam caller indication

Google haa pushed a new update to the ‘Phone’ app on Android. The latest update is available in Play Store.

The company has Announced this via their official Google+ account. The update brings ability to spam protection starting from Nexus and Android One devices.

Here’s the official post,

“Update your Google Phone app with spam protection on #Nexus and #AndroidOne devices to warn you about potential spam callers and give you the ability to block and report these numbers. If you already have Caller ID turned on, spam protection will be available on your phone once your app updates to the latest version”

How to Turn your caller ID & spam protection off:

Your phone has Caller ID & spam protection on by default, but you can turn it off.

  1. Open the Phone app phone.
  2. Tap More options More.
  3. Tap Caller ID & spam protection.
  4. Tap Off Off. To turn caller ID & spam protection back on, tap On On.
