In a tweet today, HTC announced that it is releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the unlocked HTC One M9 in the US.
For those people who own the HTC One M9, the update is expected to arrive later this evening. But interestingly, for the carrier variants of the HTC 10 and HTC One M9, the update is scheduled for early next year.

The flagship HTC 10 (unlocked) has already received the update to official Nougat earlier this year, so this is kind of good news for M9 users as well as they get to taste new features on their phones as well.
Please note the OTA update will put your phone on Android 7.0 and not Android 7.1, as happened with HTC 10. So, you might have to manually check for updates to get on the latest bits of software.
