Today Instagram updated with new material Design interface. This update is still under testing, will rolling out after final test.
Accordong to the tweet from Thomas Pepall, Instagram has recently been testing a design change with a small percentage of its total user base, Which is referred to as A/B testing,before final rollout to the general public.
According to the Instagram spokesperson: “We often test new experiences with a small percentage of the global community. This is a design test only,”
