Bixby virtual assistant comes pre-loaded with the Galaxy S8 and the bigger sibling, the Galaxy S8+. It enables users to interact with their phone using voice and touch. With its contextual awareness, it learn users’ habits and provides related information, and is easily activated with a press of its dedicated hardware button or by saying “Bixby.”
Bixby also makes it easier to search for images similar to what user is looking for. You can easily shop online, get information about landmarks, decode QR codes and even manage translations with camera, all without leaving the app that is in focus.
For users of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, there is no easy way to get the assistant to work on their device, but thanks to developers at Xda, they have just devised a method to install Bixby virtual assistant right on your phone, and thankfully, it does not require any root. So, let’s get started.
- Download and Install S8 launcher first.
- Download and Install Bixby apk. (apk mirror link)
- Go to S8 launcher setting by long pressing on home screen.
- Activate Bixby.
- Reboot.
- Swipe left for Bixby.
