Yesterday there were reports that Lenovo is making some considerable change in the Motorola Mobility. The company also announced phasing out of the Motorola brand. The story was originally published by China’s Sina which included  the interview of Lenovo’s SVP for Mobile division Mr. Chen Xudong. He told many changes that we can see in upcoming months & year. The company was also expected to be merging it’s Vibe brand with Motorola’s budget smartphone & flagship line from Motorola will continue o grow. But this report & interview was taken as a fun in the media & people took it so wrong that company came up with some clarifications. The official words said something that they won’t discontinue MOto G & Moto E line up as these are the most successful devices in the Moto to history. These were the phones that brought Motorola back in the game. “Although we are simplifying the combined Motorola and (Lenovo) portfolio, we have no plans to retire Moto G, our most successful smartphone, or Moto E.”

This official statement from Motorola itself clarifies everything that was misunderstood yesterday. They also made some clarifications on the merger of Vibe UI & Motorola’s UI “original Vibe UI and Motorola native Android UI will next year (in China) into a new UI.”

So to be very clear about yesterday’s interview it was mostly focused on bringing fingerprint scanner on Motorola’s smartphone lineup. The other things can be neglected or paid less attention to.
