Facebook Messenger to get Homescreen re-design on Android and iOS

Messenger

Facebook will be rolling out a new update for its Messenger app on iOS and Android starting this week. The new update will mostly focus on visual design and capabilities inside of your conversations, to simplify navigation across Messenger.

At the top, there would be three tabs — Messages, Active and Groups.

The messages tab will show all of your one-to-one conversations, while as groups tab will be covering all the group chats you are part of, which looks pretty clean. The middle one, Active tab, will show up all your Facebook friends who are currently online.

There is also a bar at the bottom of your Home screen which comprises of Calls, Camera button, People and Games, and will also be hosting new Discover tab as the update starts rolling out.

In case you have missed something, Messenger would come up with a simple visual clue – a red dot – to notify you.

All of these changes will be rolling out worldwide on iOS and Android this week.
