OnePlus 5 is now confirmed to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset

Yesterday we reported that OnePlus’ CEO has confirmed about the presence of fingerprint scanner on the front in the upcoming OnePlus 5.

Previously we reported about leaked render that brought us a new design to the OnePlus 5. The upcoming flagship smartphone from OnePlus was leaked previously with prototype image. The company had already released its first official teaser also with ‘Hello 5‘ confirming it’s name. We reported about OnePlus confirming the official name of it’s next flagship and some expected launch time. The next flagship from the Chinese player will be called OnePlus 5. CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau had already posted a confusing teaser about company’s next product. The exact model number for OnePlus 5 was also leaked in previous leaks. It was leaked recently in another renders.

Now we have another confirmation like yesterday. The latest confirmation comes about the chipset used in upcoming OnePlus 5 smartphone. The company has published a post in it’s OnePlus forum where it talks about the device and technicaladvancements it brings. The company has just confirmed in the post that it will be using Snapdragon 835 mobile platform in the upcoming flagship i.e. the OnePlus 5, ” With the OnePlus 5, our commitment to this philosophy continues. We’re proud to announce the OnePlus 5 will feature the Snapdragon™ 835 processor, which sets the foundation for smooth, powerful, and efficient performance. With graphically-demanding apps, for example, you’ll notice how fast they load and how well they run. ”

The company also talks about the touch latency of OnePlus 5. This is the area where OnePlus seriously needed to work because we have seen many complaints regarding the touch latency issue on the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The company rolled out many OTA updates to solve the problem. The post says, ” One of the main areas we wanted to improve was touch latency. Our engineers tested why scrolling occasionally differed between phones. There wasn’t a lot of precedent for them to work with – no benchmarks, no industry case studies to learn from. So we used a special high-speed camera to track screen movements and measure input speeds. As a result, apps respond quickly to your touch for a seamless user experience.

There are some other improvements also coming with the OnePlus 5. The company has made some changes to the Oxygen OS for better app management which will in turn result in improved RAM management and performance.
