Japanese smartphone & appliances maker Panasonic has announced that they will be launching as many as 25 smartphones in India this year. The company also wants t get more that double revenue from Mobile segment & maker it to rs.2500 Cr. The revenue of last year of Panasonic for Mobile devices was Rs. 1200 cr so the company wants to increase it to Rs. 2500 Cr.
Panasonic India Business Head (Mobility Division) Pankaj Rana said , “India is an important market and we are seeing strong growth here. This fiscal, we expect to garner Rs 2,500 crore in revenues. We will do this by launching devices across price points, expanding distribution in tier II and III cities and through strong marketing campaigns,”
He also mentioned that company is aiming on the spend more than Rs.200 cr on marketing campaigns 7 sales of the devices business, “We will bring about 25 smartphones and 15-20 of these will be before Diwali. This will be across various price points — Rs 3,500 to Rs 20,000. Next month, we will launch our most affordable smartphone for Rs 3,500,”
The company will be focusing on Rs. 10000-15000 segment as it is the highest selling business segment in India currently.
