Xiaomi has finally unveiled its latest pocket friendly Android smartphone device called Redmi 4, in India. The Redmi 4 has been in the talks for quite some time and as promised, the product is now official.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi 4 is a direct successor to the Redmi 3S launched last year in 2016 and sees upgrades in different departments. Xiaomi will no longer produce Redmi 3S, hence will further increase promotion of Redmi 4 for the Indian market where budget and affordable handsets see a very high demand.
As far as the design is concerned, the Redmi 4 comes in a metal unibody design with slimmer, tapered edges and the in-hand feel is much better than the Redmi 3S. On the top, you will find the same 2.5 curved glass used with Redmi Note 4, and as always, there is no word on display protection, whatsoever.
Now comes the main or major part, what’s changed? Xiaomi has tried to retain most of the hardware from Redmi 3S with one difference, though. The Snapdragon 430 on the Redmi 3S Prime has been upgraded to Snapdragon 435 (octa-core) on the Redmi 4. This is an improved version of 430 chipset and significantly improves performance and of course, battery life.
Also, Xiaomi is launching Redmi 4 in three RAM/ROM variants: 2GB+16GB , 3GB+32GB, and 4GB+64GB. Redmi 4 also comes with a fingerprint sensor that allows you to quickly unlock the device and access your private profile and files, fast.
