Xiaomi Redmi 5A also gets Android Oreo 8.1 beta with MIUI 10

Earlier today we reported about Xiaomi Redmi 5 getting the MIUI 10 update with Android Oreo 8.1 Beta.

Now the same update is being rolled out to Xiaomi Redmi 5A. The Redmi 5A is an entry level smartphone from Xiaomi that was a huge success in India. The update to Redmi 5A comes with software build version MIUI Global Beta 8.11.23.

Changelog:

  • System
    – A horizontal line appears after updating (Mi 8)
  • Third party apps
    – Screen blinking when watching Youtube or using Chrome (Redmi 5)
  • Notification & Statusbar
    – Notification bar always pops up “SIM 1 is HD capable” (Redmi 5)
    – Can’t see whatsapp messages when you on YouTube full-screen mode (Android P)
  • Localization
    – translation problem in calendar
