Updated: Lizard Squad brings Facebook, Instagram, Tinder, AIM, Hipchat down

Facebook hack

Notorious Lizard Squad strikes again!! This time they have brought Facebook, Instagram, AIM, Hipchat and MySpace down. They claim to have not touched Twitter, as they are using it to communicate their latest adventure.

Lizard Squad has gained lots of notoriety for bringing Microsoft’s Xbox services and Sony’s PSN down during Christmas last year. They have also hacked many other sites including Malaysia Airlines recently.

Update:

Facebook and Instagram are up now and they have contested the claims of hacking made by Lizard Squad. As per a Facebook spokesperson,

“This was not the result of a third party attack. But instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems.

“We moved quickly to fix the problem, and both services are back to 100 per cent for everyone,” a spokesman said.
