HTC announces 2nd gen Vive Pre VR headset

HTC,  a very popular Android smartphone maker has launched the second generation VR headset names Vive Pre. The headset is successor to the last year’s HTC VR headset.  The company has launched th whole new system for developers around the globe to test.  The company is also giving away 7,000 of the new products to game makers and other creatives this month, according to Dan O’Brien, vice president of planning and product management for HTC Vive. The company didn’t announce any pricing details of the final product & even the release dates were not made official.

Originally, the Pre wasn’t supposed to exist. The Vive was meant to launch by the end of 2015, but at the last minute, HTC and Valve reportedly held it in order to add ” A very , very big technological breakthrough” which could make it into the category of very first premium fully features VR headset.

O’Brien says HTC has designed every piece of the HTC Pre from the ground up “The headset has brighter, crisper screens with Mura correction, which makes objects feel like they’re right in front of you,” O’Brien says. “It adds to the presence value.”

According to O’Brien, the is one is more compact & comfortable to hold & use that the original HTC Vive. It has been designed thoroughly in HTC’s house & has a new philosophy about the product design.

HTC and over 15 Vive partners will be showcasing VR applications at CES 2016.
