Indian researched Indrajeet Bhuyan has claimed that a message filled wit 5000 emojis can easily crash your WhatsApp on Android device. He mentioned while you are using WhatsApp web on your PC via Android smartphone & if someone sends you a message containing 5000 emojis can easily crash your WhatsApp experience on your phone. It can also cause potential endanger to users’ data. The only way to get back your WhatsApp is clear the full conversation from your phone & delete previous chat history & re-open the WhatsApp app on your phone. We all know that WhatsApp doesn’t have a character limit so this is also vulnerable to users & their personal data stored in phone. This vulnerability is also limited to Android users, no other OS will be affected by this . The most important this if you are an iOS user, it will cause problem n your device also but it won’t crash your app or device.
He stated, “Suppose an attacker have send an abusive message or is blackmailing a victim” furthermore “Now the victim cannot show the message as proof as once the victim receive the smiley […] the whole chat with the attacker would crash and the victim won’t be able to open it.
“The victim will have to delete the entire chat with the attacker in order to use WhatsApp normally.”
