Google Assistant is coming to iOS with limited functionality

Google Assistant

At its annual Google I/O developer conference 2017, Google announced that its smart AI powered Google Assistant is coming to iOS devices, soon.

The app will be made available through the App Store in the coming days and users on iOS will be able to download the app and take advantage of powerful and smart AI capabilities of Google Assistant to get things done.

However, the Google Assistant will not able to assist as it does on your Android device because of API restrictions and the functionality will be limited to only sending text, make calls etc. while the screen is on. On the flip side, Apple wouldn’t really want to make Siri a second choice on its products just because of a third-party app and you can forget about “Ok Google” on iPhone etc.

We will keep you updated once the app is in store, stay tuned!
