Report: Samsung leads, Xiaomi, Lenovo grow, Micromax slips in Indian Smartphone market

Latest report from Analytic firm Canalys provides interesting insights into Indian Smartphone market share for top vendors. The report for Q3 2106 reveals how outsider brands like Xiaomi and Lenovo are growing strongly while local players like Micromax, Lava and Intex are slipping.

Samsung is still the leader with 20% market share followed by Lenovo that has replaced Micromax at second spot. Micromax is still pushing more number of smartphones than Xiaomi but Xiaomi has seen 170% growth in market share Y-O-Y. Micromax has seen its smartphone shipments halved in the meantime. Reliance Lyf is a surprise entry at number 5 spot.
