WhatsApp Beta has received a new update for Android. The latest update version is 2.17.265. The latest update is the important one which brings picture-in-picture video calls on Android O i.e. Android 8.0.
This picture-in-picture feature allows users to play the video over your screen while using other apps or playing games.

Currently, this PiP feature is available only for WhatsApp Android beta program members. But we can expect that this feature comes soon to all the users of Whatsapp.
