As scheduled, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has now officially launched the OnePlus 5 smartphone in India. The OnePlus 5 is next flagship product from the company. It was made official globally on 20th June.
In terms of specifications and features the OnePlus 5 comes with 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED display which was seen previously in the OnePlus 3/3T also. The display is covered with a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the top. The smartphone comes with a massive 6GB or 8GB RAM options. Any smartphone with this much RAM is huge. For the 6GB RAM variant, you get 64GB of internal storage whereas for 8GB RAM variant, you get 128GB is internal storage. As always, there isn’t any MicroSD card support present in the OnePlus 5. Both the models come with UFS 2.1 storage coupled with 2-lane ROM. The OnePlus 5 is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform which is world’s first chipset based on 10nm manufacturing process.
Coming to the camera which is USP of OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5 comes with a new dual camera setup on the back. There is a 16MP + 20MP sensors setup on the back. The 16MP sensor acts as primary sensor with large f/1.7 aperture. The other 20MP sensor is used for bookeh effect and portrait mode like iPhone 7 Plus and offers 2x digital lossless zoom.
Design of OnePlus 5 is inspired by iPhone 7 Plus. There is a horizontal line on the sides. It has Anodized Aluminum unibody metal construction. The device is relatively slim at just 7.25mm despite having 3300mAh battery inside it.
